Your benefits

Performance for demanding farmers!

The 2.00 m, 120 hp SPW Power loading milling head features the boost function.

Boost function for loading all types of fodder

The SPW Power loading milling head features a working width of 2 m. Its 120 hp and its large 682 mm diameter guarantee high performance when loading silage (maize silage: 2,400 kg/minute, grass silage: 1,200 kg/minute) but also with coarse fodder such as haylage, hay and straw.
When handling the most difficult products, the boost function can be activated by a simple push on the machine’s joystick control.
The two continuous coils on the milling head ensure that the product is guided towards the conveyor in optimum conditions to preserve all the roughage qualities of the silage.
The milling head downstroke control is exclusive to KUHN, it automatically adapts the milling head downstroke speed to the silage clamp according to the fodder density. In addition to respecting the roughage value of the fodder, this system guarantees a significant reduction in stress on the machine structures and protects all the hydraulic circuits.
Measuring the distance to the foot of the silage clamp is also exclusive to KUHN self-propelled mixers. Near the foot of the silage clamp, the conveyor downstroke speed is reduced for a positioning of the conveyor without any jerky movements. The silo floor, the entire structure of the machine milling head and the conveyor are protected.
The conveyor is designed with a rubber conveyor belt and feeds the fodder to the right-hand side of the tub. It is projected in the direction of the mixing flow (direction of rotation of the augers), therefore the mixing function does not compromise loading performance. Feed quality is improved.
The conveyor is positioned at the highest point of the tub, making it easy to load the fodder into the full tub. The fodder exits the conveyor at the top of the tub, allowing the entire mixing tub to be loaded.

Speed to overcome any obstacle!

The engine cradle is positioned on the front driving axle of the machine. When the tub is full, load distribution is optimal: 62 % on the front axle and 38 % on the rear axle. This provides the machine with all the traction it needs to climb the steepest slopes (up to 29 % unladen and 16 % with a full tub) and work on slippery terrain.
The mixing tub is positioned between the two axles which also lowers the centre of gravity. The self-propelled mixer can be driven safely on farm land with slopes.
Premium brand tyres are specifically designed for intensive use and are adapted to routes with abrasive coatings.
The front axle is fitted with a variable-displacement transmission engine. The axle also features a self-locking limited slip differential. With a road speed of 25 km/h, it can be used to provide daily feed quickly, reducing travel times between different work locations on the farm.
The robust suspension is mechanically reliable, with leaf springs.
The weight of the engine compartment positioned on the driving axle provides excellent load transfer.

The feed qualities that demanding herds expect!

The SPW Power mixes with two vertical augers, offering capacities of 18, 19, 21 and 22 m3 while overall heights remain low. The loading conveyor discharges the fodder eccentrically to the right of the tub so that it is in the machine's mixing flow. The filling coefficient of the tub is at maximum level.
The fodder is not compressed so that it remains aerated, thus limiting the risk of rations heating up at the trough.
Each of the two augers is equipped with 5 serrated knives with a position for a “pulled” cutting effect. The fibre cut is neat and clean, for optimum rumination. Asymmetric knives ensure a self-cleaning effect for sticky fodder.
The last quarter turn of the auger flighting is “double” to accelerate the mixing flow when the tub is full (vortex effect).
Exclusive to the SPW Power range: the auger speed is electronically regulated according to the milling head load. Power distribution is automatically adapted to the machine functions in progress.
The augers feature a wide range of speed (15 to 50 rpm) to adapt to the weight and type of fodder in the tub. The user can program mixing times for each ration produced.
A “fibre” function is available on the SPW Power to speed up the auger speed for fibrous rations, and also to ensure that the tub is completely emptied at the end of distribution.
Two hydraulic counter-knives complete the mixing and chopping system. The high-jointed counter-knives are positioned as close as possible to the passage of the knives of the mixing augers: chopping is faster and more uniform.
In terms of distribution: chute or retractable under-tub conveyor. Left and/or right-hand side ration distribution on the machine.
The SPW Power’s two vertical augers ensure high mixing quality

Easy handling and compact geometric design

The VISIOSPACE cab is fitted as standard on SPW Power models, providing excellent visibility and total driving comfort.

VISIOSPACE cab: Unbeatable driving comfort!

The VISIOSPACE cab has been developed specifically to meet the requirements of self-propelled mixers: everyday use, driving between different buildings on difficult routes, and working in tight, poorly-lit livestock buildings.
The SPW Power is designed as standard with a VISIOSPACE cab with 310° side view. The left side door is 100% glazed, giving the farmer good visibility at the foot of the machine when distributing in narrow passages.
Its round shape makes it possible to view the milling head when loading the silage in the highest silos without any visual obstacles.
The lower part of the cab is fully glazed, giving the driver a clear view of the milling head when loading silage at the foot of the silo. The milling head hood is hydraulically-operated from the cab and can be retracted. Its pivot point on the milling head rotational axis allows to stay totally clear from the field of vision during the loading phases.
The VISIOSPACE cab is extra-low and features a built-in step. Easy and effortless access.
For maximum user comfort, the SPW Power is equipped with 6 high-power LED work lights (800 Lu). The wide windscreen is coated with a self-heating film for rapid demisting when driving inside and outside buildings.
The cab is spacious, with plenty of storage space for everyday essentials.

Manoeuvrability and compactness

The tub on SPW Power self-propelled mixers is positioned between the two axles of the machine, allowing for a capacity of 22 m3 at an overall height of less than 3 m (SPW Power 22.2 DL model).
All models in the range are fitted with 4-wheel steering as standard. Turning radii are short, reduced to 7.5 m. The short wheelbase of 6.30 m provides excellent manoeuvrability in tight situations.
The machine’s rear axle is narrower than the front axle to make driving even easier. The weight constraints of self-propelled mixers, particularly in feed passages and silos, are reduced by distributing the passage of the wheels.
During distribution phases and in high-volume rations (fibrous rations), the rear axle does not soil the freshly distributed feed-out.
Narrow SPW Power rear axle reduces turning angles

SPW Power, instant fingertip control!

The joystick controls the direction and speed of the machine. This steering mode is intuitive and enables all occasional drivers to handle the SPW Power.
It is mounted on a console attached to the seat, there is no risk of the driver operating the machine incorrectly on rough terrain, while improving driving comfort.
Joystick-controlled motion control also helps to reduce daily fatigue, the drivers can rest their feet and they can brake the machine more quickly in an emergency.
Switches are ideally located near the joystick to activate the ancillary functions.
The 5.7' KUHN VTI60 control terminal is colour touch-sensitive. It has 4 modes, including two working modes (loading and distribution), a transport mode and a manual mode for all machine information (maintenance information, possibility of modifying certain machine parameters, etc.).
Weighing management with the PTM Advance system enables 100 different rations to be produced with 90 different ingredients, as well as 50 distribution batches. For specific needs, the weighing terminal can be used to adjust a daily coefficient, program mixing times and monitor ingredient consumption.
Four load cells provide feedback to the PTM Advance control unit. These deflection sensors are positioned between the machine frame and the tub. This is the best guarantee for reliable and accurate weighing.

A machine with high resale value!

Conveyor automatic hydraulic conveyor tensioning system for unrivalled service life

Renowned reliability and ease of maintenance

The SPW Power has been designed to facilitate routine maintenance operations performed by the user or major maintenance operations performed by the KUHN authorised dealer.
The loading conveyor is designed with an exclusive automatic hydraulic conveyor tensioning system. Regardless of the outside temperature and the amount of wear on the conveyor, the belt is always tensioned to prevent slippage and premature wear. When the machine stops, the system slackens the belt to prevent power surges. The conveyor drive rollers allow the fodder residue to be removed from underneath the conveyor belt. A centring groove prevents lateral friction at the bottom of the conveyor.
For maintenance, all lubrication points are easily accessible at ground level.
For the cab, technicians have easy access to the battery compartment, motor relay, weighing junction box and diagnostic connector. The solenoid valves are grouped together at the front right and are common to all functions. They are interchangeable to troubleshoot a problem right away.

Low cost of ownership and high resale value

The 170 hp (125kW) JDPS variable-speed engine allows the engine speed to be adjusted to the power requirement of the function in progress on the machine, resulting in low levels of fuel consumption. This latest-generation engine is combined with a particulate filter and the addition of Adblue.
The hydraulic tank has a capacity of only 70 litres, to keep oil change costs to a minimum during maintenance operations. KUHN’s exclusive hydraulic system allows the oil to heat up very quickly in cold weather, enabling the operator to start work more quickly.
The general design of the SPW Power frame and the associated suspensions ensure a long service life.

KUHN CONNECT, connected for optimised use

Depending on the country, the SPW Power range is available with connectivity features. Associated with the KUHN CONNECT platform, the SPW Power provides technical data which is translated into performance indicators for the user. The farmer can access the MyKUHN portal with consumption data, indicators for the distribution of times on the different functions of the machine, and, of course, all the information relating to the machine maintenance plan.
Therefore, farmers are informed on upcoming maintenance operations.
Information for KUHN dealers to improve their diagnostic is available on the KUHN extranet along with information such as incident codes and occurrences of these codes, etc.
It is therefore easier for the users and their dealer to draw up regular reports on the use of the machine and to identify potential daily improvements.
KUHN CONNECT connectivity enables the farmers and their dealers to optimise the use and maintenance of SPW Power
